On 10 January 2002 the Ascott Group
and BFISC officially launched the "The Ascott Property Management
Co. Ltd." during a ceremony held in The Ascott Beijing.
The event marks one more step in a
long cooperation between the Ascott Group and BFISC.The Ascott Group
has currently two serviced apartments properties in Beijing: The
Ascott Beijing (near the World Trade Center) and the Somerset Fortune
Garden Beijing (in front of the German School) BFISC has been deeply
involved in assisting the Ascott Group in setting up its activities
in Beijing. As Mr. Mao Daqing, deputy general manager of CapitaLand
Groups quoted in an interview with Beijing Today (3 May 2002):
"BFISC assisted the firm in finding the
right site for its Ascott apartments, slashing through regular red
tape procedures and approvals".
The Ascott Group is a global property
developer and manager of premium quality serviced apartments with
a portfolio of 9000 units of quality accommodation in 17 cities
in 10 countries.

The Ascott Group already is present in Shanghai and Tianjin. The
Ascott Group is part of the CapitaLand Group (Singapore) who already
invested over one billion yuan in Beijing.

ceremony, such as:

The Chinese side was represented by
a large team from BFISC, led by Mr. Sun Changtai, director as well
as Mr. Chen Gang (Chairman of CCPIT Beijing).

On 22 September 2001 BFISC delegates
also spend one full day visiting The Somerset and The Ascott to
admire the luxurious installations and the ongoing construction
and
to give comments and suggestions.
