G. Van Kerckhove
receives his Certificate

On 28 November, the People's
Government of Dongcheng District of Beijing Municipality officially
handed over the Certificate of Appointment to Mr. Gilbert Van Kerckhove
as "Investment Promotion Advisor".
The ceremony, meeting and lunch were held in the North Garden Hotel
(Wangfujing Street) and delegates from Dongcheng included:
- Mr. Chen Ping, Governor
- Mr. Feng Xi, Vice General Secretary
- Mr. Lin Ke Qing, First District
Vice Mayor
- Mr. Wang Pei Li, District Government
Office Director
- Mr. Xu Hui, District National Asset

The same appointment was
also handed over to:
- Mr. Sun Xiao Yu, Vice President
of the Development Research Center of the State Council
- Professor Dr. Zhang Han Lin, President
of the China Institute for WTO Studies, UIBE; Director of the
Fuyao Antidumping Research Center; Arbitrator of the China International
Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission; WTO Counselor at MOFTEC
- Mr. C. Y. Leung, Chairman of Debenham
Tie Leung (International Property Advisors - Hong Kong)
- Dr. Wang Nai,, Executive Vice-President
of the Western Returned Scholars Association.
- During the meeting Dongcheng District
gave an overview of the latest situation in the District and current
plans. The new Advisors gave their personal comments on how Dongcheng
District can improve their image and investment climate.
- Gilbert Van Kerckhove agreed to
have further meetings as well as site visits to have a closer
look at the latest plans for development.
