On 4 April 2002 "the Forum between Leaders of the Municipality and Representatives of Transnational Corporations" was organized by the Beijing Authorities with the assistance of BFISC.
Several top leaders from the Beijing Municipality attended, such as Mr. Jia Qinglin (secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Beijing Municipality); Mr. Liu Qi, Mayor; Mr. Meng Xuenong and Mr. Zhang Mao, vice mayors; Mr. Huang Chenxiang (secretary- general of Beijing Municipal Government).
On the foreign side, many top executives of multi-national companies attended as well as representatives of foreign chambers of commerce.

The meeting was held to show the concern and interest of the Municipal authorities for the business community.
Vice mayor Zhang Mao gave a speech entitled "Entry into WTO and Quickening Beijing's Opening to Outside World".
A group photo was taken and Mr. Liu Qi had a lively chat with the foreign businessmen.
