26 May 2002 - Closing ceremony of Wanfujing Seminar - Appointment for G. Van Kerckhove

On 26 May 2002 The Organizing Committee of the Fifth China Beijing International High-tech Expo and Wangfujing World Famous Commercial Street's Seminar held a closing ceremony at the Tianlun Dynasty Hotel.
At the occasion, the appointment of Mr. G. Van Kerckhove was announced as "Advisor for Investment Promotion in Dongcheng District". A separate ceremony will be held in the future.

Several companies signed investment agreements during the ceremony. Also present were:
- Mr. François-Xavier de Donnea, Belgian State Minister and Minister President of the Brussels - Capital Region;
- Mr. Johan Maricou, Ambassador of Belgium in Beijing
- Mr. Claude Vincent, Trade Commissioner of the Walloon Region in Beijing
- Mr. Ivan Korsak, Trade Commissioner for Brussels - Capital Region in China
- Mr. Sun Changtai, Mr. G. Van Kerckhove and Ms. Sun Bin of BFISC

Also present were delegates from a Belgium company that is to build a US$ 96.7 million cinema with digital facilities in Wangfujing Business Center (on Jinbao Street). The ultra-modern complex will have 25 screens and a total seating capacity of 11,000. Satellite transmission will be used instead of traditional films.
A letter of intent was signed at another occasion between the two Belgian companies involved and Mr. Chiu Yung, president of Beijing Fu Wah Jin Bao Real Estate Development Co. Ltd
